St. George, UT - Our dear sweet mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Gaylene Rosenberg Sims, 74, returned gracefully to Heavenly Father Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in St. George Utah. She did not allow her 14 year battle with cancer to define her life. Instead, she was known for her Christlike service to anyone she saw in need. She enjoyed sharing her strong yet tender testimony of the Savior and of His love. She was a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life and served in many capacities. She is finally free of her mortal limitations and is no doubt continuing to serve beyond the veil.
Gaylene was born on December 12, 1938 in Centerfield, Utah to Delos A. and Mary Verle Rosenberg. She married Bill Sims on September 13, 1961. They had 4 children. They later divorced.
Gaylene is survived by her children Doug (Connie) of Bluffdale, UT, Layne (Melony) of Herriman, UT, and Andriel (Jon) Hubbard of St. George UT, 16 grandchildren, her twin brother Gayle Rosenberg, and sisters Faunell Hirschi, Glorus Rowley, and Marilou Linton. She was preceded in death by her oldest son Bill, and her parents.
