St. George, Utah - Audrey E. Bush, age 92, passed away July 31, 2012 in St. George, Utah. She was born September 17, 1919 in Ogden, Utah to Samuel Edward Bush and Edith Elizabeth Wanless Bush. Audrey was raised in Ogden, Utah. After High School, she attended the University of Utah for music education and received her Master's Degree of Music in 1949.

For many years she was principal contrabassist of the Seattle Symphony, then 35 years as principal bassist of the Utah Symphony. She then lived and worked in Las Vegas, Nevada for 15 years. She was a charter member of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, serving as principal bassist from 1998 until her retirement in 2003 at which time she was awarded the title of "Principal Emeritus". She traveled the world with her music. She started the music department for the Washington County School District.

Audrey is survived by her daughter Denise Jones of St. George, UT and sons Eric Bush and Lance Bush, both of Anchorage, AK, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 6, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Sunday evening, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, prior to services, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., both at Metcalf Mortuary. Interment will be Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, UT. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary,(435) 673-4221.
