Katherine Irene Alexis

Washington, Utah - Katherine Irene Alexis passed from this life on June 8, 2012. Katherine was born on March 13, 1926, which happened to be Friday the 13th. Katherine shared many superstitions with her family. Katherine was born to Irene and Frank Trask in Belmont, New York, where she lived until she married Kenneth Brown in 1944. She migrated to Bishop, California where she and Kenneth had five children before they divorced in 1958. In 1975, Katherine married her sweetheart Albert Alexis. Together they operated and lived at the Oasis Ranch until 1993. 'The Ranch' was the meeting place for numerous family members for large holiday events, and an absolute favorite place for Katherine's grandchildren to spend time with their grandparents. Katherine and Albert moved to St. George, Utah, in 1997 to be near their daughter Faith.

Katherine is survived by her daughters, Faith Rosemeyer (Washington, UT) and Deborah Frenzi (Reno, NV); sons, Elbe Brown, (Rena Brown) (Bishop, CA) and George Brown (CA). Katherine also has 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Katherine was preceded in passing by her 9 siblings. She was the last and 10th child to join her parents. Katherine will also reunite with her husband and love, Albert Alexis; son, Kenneth Brown Jr.; son-in-law, Brady Rosemeyer; granddaughter, Haylee Rosemeyer; and great grandbaby, Ridley Zohner.

Katherine was a pillar of strength throughout her life. She truly exemplified the tenacity and fortitude required of strong women and mothers.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Tonaquint Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Arrangements are entrusted to Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
