St. George, Utah - Richard A. Peterson (Dick) of St. George, Utah passed away of natural causes April 21, 2012 with his wife, children and grandchildren by his side. He was born June 30, 1940 in Salina, Utah to Alvie and Marie Peterson.

Dick proudly joined the Marines from 1957-1961. He married the love of his life Vicky on May 26, 1973, and together they had four daughters.

He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and stepfather. He is survived by his wife, Vicky; daughters: Karren (Jeff) Olsen, Lisa Peterson, Melanie Ficklin and Stephanie (Jamie) Johnston; and six grand children: Devan, Josh, Emily Ficklin and Kelton, Ashton, Dalton Johnston.

He was a very special person. He loved all his friends and family. He was so thankful for all of them. He touched many hearts and souls. He was and still is a hero to many people. He wii be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday, prior to services, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be at the Washington City Cemetery.
