Gary Dale Bergquist

U.S. Veteran

Gary Dale Bergquist, 60, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in the presence of his adoring family. Two weeks prior he was surprisingly diagnosed with aggressive cancer which took his life a short time later. Gary was born and raised in Denison, Texas. He and his family were converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while in his youth, a decision which shaped his and countless other lives. Gary served an honorable full time mission in the Brazil South Mission. Gary returned and met his sweetheart Lenore Richardson. They were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple in 1975. Gary attended advanced schools of his choice, receiving many degrees, and awards. Gary enlisted into the United States Army and began a career as a Russian Communications Analyst. He is the proud father of six children: Jared, Aaron, Miriam, Charity, Rachael, and Rebekah. Gary was tremendously successful in life with the things that mattered. He was a perfect example to his children on how to be a loving husband, caring father/grandfather (13), and a worthy priesthood holder. All six of Gary's children have married in the temple and are active participants in progressing the work of the Lord here on the Earth. Gary was loved by all who knew him and we know he continues to lead by example as he awaits his eternal family. We love you Dad. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Little Valley Stake Center, 1762 South River Road, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Friday, prior to services, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow at Tonaquint Cemetery.
